Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch: Ian Gurfield, Ian’s Pizza

The Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship offers a weekly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch program where local experts on entrepreneurship tell their unique story and answer questions from students on the UW campus. The sessions occurr during the lunch hour (12:15-1:15 p.m.) in room 5110 and are held most Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters.

Ian Gurfield is the co-founder of Ian’s Pizza and is passionate about entrepreneurship, food and travel. Ian has traveled across the world and visited a diversity of countries including Singapore, Morocco and Bhutan. He also enjoys studying foreign languages. Ian spent five years of his early childhood in Brazil before his family settled down in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. In 2001, he moved to Madison to co-found Ian’s Pizza. In the past 17 years, Ian has helped expand Ian’s Pizza into several markets including Milwaukee, Denver and Seattle. Ian is also the co-founder of Batch Bakehouse and a real estate investor.
