All Discovery to Product education programs are free and open to UW–Madison faculty, staff, and students.
Are you an innovator with a creative solution that has the potential for commercial and/or social impact? Consider attending one of our cohort-based courses, Innovation to Market (I2M) or Igniter. Using the industry-leading Lean Startup approach, these programs engage participants in hands-on learning based on the scientific method, helping you move beyond ideas to informed implementation. A set number of teams (typically 15 or fewer) are admitted to each course.
Innovation to Market (I2M) is a five-week course that teaches you how to listen, learn, and pivot when necessary. You probably have some hypotheses about how your innovation will meet customer or societal needs, but have you gotten out of the building to really ground truth those assumptions? Igniter is an intensive eight-week course for teams that have matched their innovation to a viable market and are ready to put their idea into action. To ignite is to heat, to set in motion, to catch fire. The spark from your ideas is fueled by the Igniter course’s guidance to create and validate all aspects of the plan for how you will bring your innovative solution, product, or service to the world. Offered in partnership with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), Entrepreneurons lectures provide an opportunity to learn from startup founders and business leaders from around the world.
Discovery to Product’s Innovation and Commercialization Specialists provide free coaching and mentoring to all UW–Madison innovators. We are veteran business developers, entrepreneurs, product managers, and startup executives that have experience in engineering and physical sciences, health care and life sciences, information technology, food science, and consumer goods. You don’t have to be a current or past participant in a D2P program to connect with us, and it’s never too early or late to check in to get help with your project.
